EVENT TITLE : WOMEN: An International Women's Day Exhibition

EVENT SUMMARY: In conjunction with the International Women's Day Panel, this exhibit showcases work from WCA Philadelphia members. Through diverse mediums, these artists chronicle their experiences through imagery of women at work, cultural representations of the feminine, and abstract goddess depictions. WOMEN: An International Women's Day Exhibition, is a partnership between the Women’s Caucus for Art of Philadelphia, the African Studies Department at the University of Pennsylvania and One Book, One Philadelphia for the celebration of the text, Persepolis. Coverage in Philadelphia papers, Free Library Website, Publicized in Philadelphia schools through field trip brochure, catalogue for the exhibition.

Girls Gotta Run
EVENT TITLE: Teaching the Human Experience: Fulbright-Hays Ethiopia partnership with Girls Gotta Run

EVENT SUMMARY: Fulbright-Hays trip was to Ethiopia in 2009. Outreach ongoing through exhibitions, website design, a fundraising calendar for women and children in Ethiopia through Girls Gotta Run Foundation. Catalogue produced: "Coptic: Ethiopian Mysticism" and a calendar "Women and Children in Ethiopia" (proceeds donated to Girls Gotta Run Foundation); Feature articles in TADIAS Magazine and BITCH Magazine. Exhibitions at ERA Ethiopian Restaurant, Kaffa Crossing, Holy Family University, Regency Cafe, Germ Bookstore
